Josephine Osley, 90, of Fort Plain, passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2012. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Born on Jan. 12, 1922, to the late Joseph and Sophie Lubunski, she was a lifelong resident of the Fort Plain area. Josephine was a devout Roman Catholic and attended the former St. James Roman Catholic Church. She was united in marriage on Feb. 25, 1950, to the late Daniel Osley, who passed April 12, 2012. Josephine attended Fort Plain High School. She worked several jobs in her life, including Anderson Department Store, The Five and Dime, Lifesaver and Lexuray in Fort Plain.
Josephine loved spending time at the family camp of 50 years named Takit Eazie, located on Caroga Lake.
Josephine is survived by her loving son, Robert D. Osley (Luann); sister, Carmeta Sthaler, and special niece, Lorrie O’Connor; grandchildren, Joseph Osley (Tairyn) and Janice Dillenbeck (Burton); and two great-grandchildren, Aidan Dillenbeck and Nathan Dillenbeck. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Daniel Osley; brother, Chet Lubunski; and sister, Ida Miller.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date at her beloved camp on the Caroga Lake.
