Elizabeth “Betty” Povec, 94, a longtime Little Falls resident, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Albany Medical Center.
Betty was born July 9, 1913, in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Pribish) Rohacek, and was educated in Little Falls schools.
She was married to John Povec, who died on May 20, 1970.
For many years, Betty worked for the former Felt Shoe Company of Little Falls and St. Johnsville and was a member of St. Paul’s Universalist Unitarian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Kelley and husband, Maurice, of Hanover, NH; a son, Donald Povec, of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Mildred Koziol and husband, Stanley, of Little Falls; four grandchildren, Dr. Elizabeth Kelley Dumanois and husband, Robert, Attorney Kelley Sorisio and husband, Paul, Donald Povec Jr., and Andrew Povec; a great-grandson, Maurice Dumanois; sisters-in-law, Connie and Florence Rohacek, both of Little Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Anna Perkov, Rudolph, Milan and John Rohacek.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at 11 a.m. from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, with the Reverend Kimberly Miner officiating. Burial will follow at Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the services.
