Ms. Gladys M. Donlin, of the Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.
Gladys was born on March 28, 1924, in Ilion. She was the daughter of Floyd and Rosina (Hayes) Cline. After graduation from Ilion High School, Gladys worked as a secretary to the Veterans Associaton in Herkimer and later was employed as a secretary at Oneonta College, Oneonta. Upon her retirement, she relocated to her home in the village of Ilion. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Ilion.
Gladys is survived by her niece, Eleanor Hayes and her husband, William, of Lassellsville; also her cousins, Virginia Mead and Kenneth Swartz, of Dolgeville. In addition, she leaves a cherished lifelong friend, Cecila Dunadee, of Frankfort. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Donald Cline and Leo Cline, and a niece, Dorothy Snell, of Johnstown.
In keeping with Gladys’ wishes, there are no calling hours. A Christian service will be held in the spring upon burial in the Ingham Mills Cemetery.
Gladys is being cared for by Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion.
