Mrs. Barbara Dobrovolc, 85, of Lovers Leap Road (Town of Danube), passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Monday, January 1, 2013, in Little Falls Hospital.

Barbara was born on November 10, 1927, in Forest Hills, (Queens), NY, a daughter of the late Henry and Rose (Martin) Krahn. She attended Forest Hills schools and graduated with the Class of 1945. On February 5, 1949, she and Cyril were married in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Forest Hills. They settled in Little Falls and together enjoyed a loving union of almost 64 years.

Mrs. Dobrovolc was a housekeeper at Little Falls Hospital from 1980 until her retirement in 1993. She was a faithful parishioner of Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Cyril; devoted children, Rosemarie Bolen and her husband, Stephen, of Collins, NY, Andrew H. Dobrovolc and his wife, Jeannie, of Dayton, OH, John C. Dobrovolc and his wife, Lorraine, of Little Falls, and Joseph E. Dobrovolc and his wife, Christine, of Portsmouth, RI; a brother, Henry Krahn and his wife, Lucy, of Rego Park, NY; her much loved grandchildren, David and Shana Bolen and their children, Chase and Weston, Matthew Bolen, Andrew S., Glenn and Joseph J. Dobrovolc, Vincent and Sarah Dobrovolc and their child, Avery, Allison Dobrovolc, Tricia Marie Dobrovolc, and Colin Andrew Dobrovolc. She also leaves her in-laws, Edward and Ruth Dobrovolc, of Bristol, TN, and Donald and Donna Dobrovolc, of Inghams Mills; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Rose Martin, and her siblings, Rosemarie Krahn and Clara Moser.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, January 4, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls. Barbara’s funeral will commence with prayer at the funeral home on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 10:15 a.m., followed by her Funeral Mass celebrated by the Reverend Thomas Lawless at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Parish Church, East Main Street. Procession will follow to St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest.

Those wishing may make a contribution in Barbara’s memory to the Little Falls Hospital Fund, 140 Burwell Street, Little Falls, NY 13365; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
