DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. —
Word has been received that Helen Metz, 89, of Palm Harbor, Florida, formerly of Dolgeville, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012, after a long and happy life. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and LeElla Budlong Augar of Dolgeville and was born in Litchfield, NY, on November 7, 1922.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Theodore Miller, with whom she had three children, Betty (Larry ) Fazio, of Dolgeville, Shirley (Steven) McClinnis, of Palm Harbor, FL, and predeceased by her eldest daughter, Rosemary (Richard ) Cool. She was also predeceased by her husband, Richard Metz.
Besides her daughters, she leaves grandchildren, Rosemary Cool, of Ohio, Richard Cool, of Florida, Larry (Krisztina) Fazio, of New York, Sean and Karroll McGregor, Laura Byard, Jennifer Al-Amin and Jason Darling, of Georgia. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Sheila Jessop.
Helen is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren as well as her brother, Glen (Joan) Augar, of Dolgeville, and Virginia (Donald) Gardner, of Leesburg, FL.
Helen was well-known in Dolgeville for having run the Dolgeville Restaurant for many years and was also employed by the Daniel Green Company. Her quick smile and friendly personality were contagious! Also, as those who know and loved her, Mom didn't care for flowers, so if you desire to… please make a donation to your favorite charity in her name.
Services will be held June 7th, 2013, and burial will be at Salisbury Rural Cemetery.
