Mrs. Arlene M. Jones, 91, of 105 S. Main St., Dolgeville, who has been a resident of Valley Health Services in Herkimer, died there on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 with the love and support of her family at her side.
She was born in Dolgeville on Aug. 24, 1921, the daughter of David and Mary (Edwards) Spingler, and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1940. Her marriage to Ronald J. Jones took place on April 30, 1942, in Dolgeville. They celebrated 70 years of marriage this past April.
Mrs. Jones was employed by the former Daniel Green Company, of Dolgeville, for many years, retiring several years ago. She was of the Presbyterian faith, a member of the former Auskerada Chapter No. 204 of the Order of Eastern Star, and her personal interests were in her home and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald of 70 years; a son and his wife, Thomas and Elaine Jones, of Hammonsport; a daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Charles Brockett, of Dolgeville; her adored grandchildren, Doctors Chris and Leisa Brockett, of Saratoga, Scott Brockett, of Pennsylvania, Amy and Steve Billings, of Dolgeville, Thomas and Laura Jones, of Webster, and Michelle and Mark Hatfield, of Holly; and her great-grandchildren, Joshua Hatfield, Megan Hatfield, Sean Jones, Rachel Jones, Megan Brockett, Alex Brockett and Ainsley Billings. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ken and Stan Spingler; and a special sister, Cora Ellis.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Salisbury Rural Cemetery.
