James G. “Jay” Bargy Jr., 29, of 1110 Jacobs Lane, Columbia, Tenn., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 19, 2008.
He was born January 18, 1979, in Niskayuna, the son of Donna L. Berhardt Bargy and the late James G. Bargy Sr., and was educated at local schools. He was married to Rebecca L. Russell.
Mr. Bargy was of the Lutheran faith and worked as a contractor and landscaper in Tennessee. He liked to hunt and fish and was an avid NASCAR and Metallica fan. Jay cherished his family and his nieces and nephews.
He was a volunteer fireman for RGL.
Survivors include his mother, Donna Bargy, of St. Johnsville; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Bernhardt, of Gloversville; paternal step-grandmother, Kay Bargy, of New Jersey; four sisters, Rebecca Malloy and husband, Mike, of Schenectady, Lisa Brady and fiancee, Alfred Foster, of Gloversville, Patricia Wells and companion, Brad Rose, of Ilion, and Charlene Bargy, of St. Johnsville; nieces and nephews, Katlin and Tyler Brady, Boyd and Carly Wells and Austin and Bryant Bargy; and many aunts, uncles and cousins; a special aunt, Sally Nellis, of Gloversville; his wife, Rebecca, of Tennessee; and a brother-in-law, Boyd Wells, of White Hall.
Jay was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, James H. Bargy, and his paternal grand mother, Marion Hayford.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 8 p.m. from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, with Reverend Dave Shepard officiating. Burial will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. at West St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday, April 24, 2008, from 5 p.m. until the time of the services.
