Mildred ‘Millie’ Kimball

 Mildred “Millie” Kimball, 91, formerly of Fort Plain, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008, at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam where she had been a resident since 2004.
She was born in Little Falls on November 16, 1916, a daughter of the late Charles and Teofilia Leczczenska Krasko.
Millie married Raymond Kimball on October 25, 1939, together they made their home in Fort Plain, where they raised their two children, Rodney and Norine. They also managed an electrical contract business together for over 23 years. Raymond predeceased Millie on November 28, 1986.
Millie’s hobbies included gardening and cooking. Many sought after her special dishes when she donated them to the bake sales over the years. She was also a very giving individual who gave her time and spirit to local causes, national issues and to volunteer work at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Plain. She very much enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and will be sadly missed by all.
Her loving family includes her daughter, Norine Ignacio of Grass Valley, Calif.; her sisters, Mary, Jennie, Anna, Stella, Frances and Betty; and her brothers, Joseph and Raymond. In addition to her parents and her husband, Millie was predeceased by her son Rodney in 1953; her sisters, Edna and Sophia; and her brothers, Fred, Albert and Charles.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2008, at Fort Plain Cemetery, Clyde Street, Fort Plain. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie, NY 13317.
