A Herkimer man was arrested on May 29 after he reportedly assaulted a security officer at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford, police said.
Brian A. Brewczynski, 26, was charged with second-degree assault, a class D Felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor, after an incident that occurred on May 22 in the hospital’s Emergency Department, according to New Hartford police.
While being treated, Brewczynski reportedly attacked a hospital security officer and attempted to use medical equipment as a weapon against the officer, police said.
