A local man has been accused of threatening to go into the homes and schools of police officers’ children and kill them, Herkimer police said.
Rayvonn M. Burks, 25, was charged with two counts of felony making a terroristic threat, police said.
Police said when Burks was taken into custody for an unrelated charge, he threatened officers’ lives and then went on to say he would burn their houses down with the families still inside.
Burks also was accused of threatening to visit the homes and schools of the officer’s children and shoot them with a rifle in retribution for his arrest, police said.
Burks was arraigned in Herkimer Village Court and was sent to Herkimer County jail on $15,000 cash bail or $45,000 bail bond.
