Fairfield, N.Y. —
Fire destroyed a barn on Hardscrabble Road in the town of Fairfield on Tuesday.
Middleville Fire Chief Roger Hensley said fire was reported at 5:17 p.m.
The call, he said, was reportedly called in by someone passing by the structure.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, Hensley said the fire was fully involved.
Hensley said there were no animals or persons inside the barn at the time of the fire.
He said the barn was a total loss and that firefighters were on the scene for a few hours.
Assisting at the scene were the Newport and Salisbury fire departments.
