Little Falls, N.Y. -

At Monday night’s meeting of the Little Falls Police and Fire Board, Justin Leszczynski submitted his letter of resignation from the Little Falls Police Department, effective May 17. In his letter addressed to Chief of Police Gregg DeLuca and the commissioners, Leszczynski indicated that he accepted an opportunity to continue his law enforcement career closer to his home and family in Cayuga County.
“Officer Leszczynski has been a member of our department since graduating from our academy in July 2005, and has worked as both a part-time and full-time officer, dedicating himself to serving the city in each capacity,” said DeLuca, as he requested that the board approve Leszczynski’s permanent appointment, effective May 14, as it is necessary for Civil Service transfers.
Based upon his work record and commitment, the board granted the approval.
They also accepted his resignation with regret, and wished him well in his future endeavors.
DeLuca said that although Leszczynski’s full-time position will need to be filled, he felt that any recommendation for a replacement officer should be the prerogative of the next chief of police.
