News to know
On the same day that BP agreed to pay $4.5 billion for the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, it was announced that two BP executives will face manslaughter charges stemming from the explosion. Eleven men died in the blast.
Quote of note
“I think that's absolutely wrong. I don't think that represents where we are as a party and where we're going as a party. That has got to be one of the most fundamental takeaways from this election.” - Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, talking Thursday about comments Mitt Romney made Wednesday in which he said he lost the election because President Barack Obama offered “gifts” to minority voters.
