Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Herkimer

A traffic stop ended in an arrest after Herkimer police discovered several packets of heroin and prescription pills inside the vehicle.
Police said a vehicle operated by Katrina Johnson, 25, of Whitesboro, was stopped by officers and after interviewing Johnson and her passenger, Lance Durham, 32, of Mohawk, the drugs were found.
Johnson was charged with driving while ability impaired for driving her vehicle under the influence of drugs and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, said police.
She was arraigned and remanded to the Herkimer County jail in lieu of $500 bail.
Durham was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, said police. He was arraigned and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $500 bail.
