St. Johnsville, N.Y. -

St. Johnsville Public Works Superintendent Chris Weaver told the board of trustees Monday that the DPW could use some additional help this season at the cemetery.
The shift is 30 hours per week for 30 weeks. Thus far about four applications have been submitted, he said.
Last year’s part-time help will not be able to do so this year, and one employee working the cemetery, Weaver said, is not enough.
In other business:
•DPW workers voted 6-1 for a change in hours of operation during the summer season. Workers decided that Monday through Thursday, they will work 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday they will work from 6 to 10 a.m. One man will be on board the entire day Friday, from 6 a.m.-3:30 p.m. No weekends will be worked unless necessary, such as during community events or emergency situations.
•Last year, the DPW went out to bid for a FEMA project at the domes, in which the drive down would be paved. The bidder, Horender Construction, said they would hold the $7,000 bid until spring. The board has not yet decided whether to reject the bid or not.
•A roller was ruined in the June 2006 flood. Weaver looked into getting a new one, and found one for $8,200, which he said was much less than the $14,000 they usually cost. The one destroyed during the flood will be replaced with member item grants given for flood damages.
