•Brandon S. Frantz, 21, of 205 W. German St., Herkimer, was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny. He was also charged with possession of marijuana. Frantz was arrested for his alleged involvement in an April 29 alarm call at the Kmart store on South Washington St. Upon checking the exterior of the store officers located a pair of open doors in the rear of the building. While officers were checking the interior of the store, the New York State Police observed a male running from the area of the front of the building. The male dropped the item he was holding, a comforter, as police gave chase on foot. Frantz was arrested a short time later. No other suspects were located. Frantz was arraigned before Judge Philip O’Donnell in Herkimer Village Court and was remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash or $25,000 bail bond. He was scheduled to reappear in court Wednesday.
