Herkimer Police are seeking information regarding a motor vehicle assault that occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Police received a report that a gray Dodge or Chevy minivan operated by a young male intentionally struck a 31-year-old male who was operating his bicycle in the area of Graham Street and Park Avenue, after a verbal altercation, police said.

The altercation first began on North Main Street and continued as the van driver followed the bicyclist, police said.

The male was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a male in his late teens, about 5 feet 10 inches in height, weighing about 200 pounds, with short hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (315) 866-4330.
