About 119 cartons of assorted brand untaxed cigarettes were seized Friday in an Ilion home following a two-month investigation, according to state police.
Ilion resident James T. Williams, 46, was charged with felony possession/sale of unstamped cigarettes and misdemeanor fifth-degree criminal tax fraud, police said.
The investigation revealed Williams had engaged in an ongoing enterprise to regularly purchase vast quantities of untaxed cigarettes and resell them for profit, officials said.
Village police also assisted at the scene.
