A Little Falls man was sentenced to prison Monday for sexually abusing a child less than 11 years old in Herkimer, prosecutors said.
Edwin French, 38, was sentenced in Herkimer County Court as a second felony offender to nine years in prison and 10 years of post-release supervision after he previously pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal sexual act, Assistant District Attorney Jeffrey Carpenter said.
French was arrested by state police in December 2011 in connection to the incident, which occurred in the summer of 2010, Carpenter said.
French was issued an order of protection to stay away from the child victim.
