An Ilion man was charged with criminal trespass Sunday after Herkimer police found him in the area of a business that had been broken into, police said.
Officers located 22-year-old Shane Rakentine and another man after responding to an alarm and finding the door and window of the business unsecured, police said.
After further investigation, Rakentine was charged with third-degree criminal trespass and sent to Herkimer County jail on $1,000 cash bail or $3,000 bail bond.
He will return to court at a later date, police said.
