A Herkimer man has been charged with selling prescription medication from his village apartment, police said.
John Yost, 47, of 210 N. Main St., was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, after members of the Herkimer Police Special Response Team executed a no-knock search warrant at his residence on Friday morning, Investigator Jeffrey Crim said.
Inside Yost’s apartment police recovered illegally possessed prescription drugs, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a measuring scale and packaging material, police said. Yost was arraigned in Herkimer Village Court and committed to the Herkimer Count Correctional Facility without bail.
Yost’s arrest came after a two-month investigation with the assistance of the Herkimer County District Attorney’s Office, and additional arrests are expected, Crim said.
