The Band Perry in our own Backyard
So I bet you’re wondering what The Band Perry and Country Music have in common with the internet. Right? Well, it’s really very simple.
Before social media really came to be, any event received publicity via the radio, television (if you could afford it) and newspaper. Big bucks were spent to try and get the word out about what’s going on and to get folks interested in attending our events. That’s all changed now. Thanks to social media.
A good publicity campaign includes a little bit of everything. A little newspaper. A little television and a little radio with a lot of social media. You might think it’s the reverse, but social media plays the major role. You see, our young people are getting most of their news via the internet. Using their smart phones, they search for the information they want. And if they can’t find it on their smartphone on the internet, then it’s not in their world.
That may sound corny to you or I, but that’s what is familiar to this generation.
So, back to The Band Perry. They will be entertaining us with their music magic on August 4 at MKJ Farms in Deansboro. Special guests are Kirsten Kelly and Jenna Jentry.
MKJ Farms was purchased by Jack Buschmann in May of 2002. After extensive renovations to the property and the 210 foot barn, the Farm is the perfect venue. In past seasons the Farm has hosted Willie Nelson, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more so they have lots of experience at this!
As they say on the farm “Bring a friend, roll out a blanket and enjoy.” It promises to be a great event.
