Friday June 1st is a day of tremendous importance.
The holiest of holy snack days: 'Tis "National Donut Day."
A day where we celebrate America's obsession with sugary fried dough-like pastries.
Local Dunkin Donut locations are celebrating by offering guests a free donut of their choice (while supplies last) with the purchase of any beverage.
So get 'em before everyone else does.
And what is "National Donut Day?"
Shame of you for not knowing about this mythic day of 'fried' pride: National Donut Day, celebrated on the first Friday of June each year, was originally established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.
Consider the calendar marked.
