Plumbing Tip: Don't Assume Leaks are Benign

undefinedPlumbing drips and leaks can be costly in more ways than you may want to imagine. According to Len the Plumber, a Baltimore area plumber, leaks can corrode your pipes and waste "hundreds of gallons of water per month". recommends periodically checking all your pipes, faucets, and toilets to be sure there are no leaks. I learned the hard way two years ago when I was assuming moisture under my kitchen sink was from recyclables after they had been washed out. By the time I figured out I was wrong, it was a much bigger job to fix. Leaks can lead to the breakdown of your cabinetry and attract pests as the wood begins to rot. Also, if your toilet is leaking, it may fall through the flooring eventually - and nobody wants that.
