The Wrecking Ball tour rolls on! Just announced today, on the heels of the news about the Obama rallies in Ohio and Iowa, one last date for 2012 – a show in Mexico City on December 10. Bruce has been somewhat influenced by Mexican music at times (listen to “We Are Alive” for starters as well as much of the “Ghost of Tom Joad” album), so it will be very interesting to see what he and the band pull out of their hats (not going to say sombreros… not gonna do it) for this one.
A quick (and I do mean quick) bit of research doesn’t turn up any previous Springsteen dates in Mexico, though there is evidence that he visited there as early as 1973.
Even more exciting to many of us is the fact that this is being billed as the “final stop of 2012″ but NOT as the “final stop of the tour,” lending plenty of weight to the rumors that we will be seeing more of the Wrecking Ball crew in 2013.
Tickets for Mexico City go on sale Wednesday, October 24 at ticketmaster.com/mx, so you’ve got about ten days to explain to your boss why you’re sneaking off to Mexico all of a sudden….
