My wife came home with a 12 pack of Blue Moon that was left over from a Christmas party this past week.
I don’t typically drink this beer, because there are a lot better Belgian Whites out there. Still, its not a bad beer. In fact, I can point to it as my first introduction to Belgian style ales many, many years ago, and wanting to see what else was out there like this.
Once I did I found all sorts of great Belgian style ales made here in the states, or from Belgian. That then opened the whole world of craft beer, and then that lead me to wanting to make my own beer.
So, can a beer that’s made by Coors be that bad if leads people to better beers by smaller brewers? I don’t think so. We can say all the negative things we want about the big brewers, but if they make good beer, and get people passionate about other beers are they really all that bad?
