  • DANUBE — The town of Danube will conduct a trash clean up for town residents from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the town garage at 438 Creek Rd.
Household garbage, liquids, empty or full paint cans, pesticides, chemicals and any hazardous materials, batteries, propane or other gas tanks and recyclables will not be accepted.
Tires not on rims will be accepted at a cost of $2 per tire for tires up to 17 inches, $10 for tires 17.5 inches to 22.5 inches and $50 for a rear tractor tire.
Residents are asked to have the correct change for tires. A personal check payable to “The Town of Danube” for the amount will also be accepted.
Bags of clean, usable clothing will be accepted, set aside and given to a clothing charity.
Residents will be asked to sign a registration book each time them deliver something verifying they are a town of Danube resident and the trash they leave is from the town of Danube.
Residents will be expected to remove the articles they wish to dispose of from their vehicle to prevent damage to the vehicle.
Trash is not to be left after the designated hours as this could result in canceling any future clean up dates for the town.
For more information, call town Highway Superintendent Corey LaPorta at 823-3400 or 717-6046 or any town council member.
