  • Poetry prize winner comes to Utica College

  • UTICA — Juliana Gray, winner of the Eugene Paul Nassar Poetry Prize, will visit Utica College at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, in the Carbone Family Auditorium. The reading is free and open to the public.
    Gray, author and associate professor of English at Alfred University, will share a reading from her book, “Roleplay,” which won the 2010 Orphic Prize and was published by Dream Horse Press in 2012.
    Gray is the author of two full-length poetry collections. Her first book of poetry, “The Man Under My Skin,” was published in 2005. Gray’s recent poems have appeared in or are forthcoming from Barrow Street, Measure, 32 Poems, Waccamaw and elsewhere.
    “Roleplay “is available from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other booksellers.
    Submissions are now being accepted for this year. To be eligible, a work must be a book of poems in English, at least 48 pages long and must have been published between July 1, 2013, and June 30, 2014 by a resident of upstate New York. All books entered in competition will be donated to the Utica College Library and the Utica Public Library.
