  • HERKIMER — Valley Health Services in Herkimer will offer a baseball-theme raffle, titled Baseball and Beyond.
The raffle is sponsored by Steet Ponte Chevrolet and the winner will receive the following prizes:
    • An overnight stay at the Otesaga in Cooperstown on Friday, May 23, with breakfast included, plus two tickets to 2014 Hall of Fame Classic Baseball Game on May 24 at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown. Hall of Fame legends Ozzie Smith and Phil Niekro will be team captains, joined by Roberto Alomar and Rollie Fingers and more to be named later.
    • Two tickets to the New York Yankees game on July 19 at Yankee Stadium versus the Cincinnati Reds with Tours by Design of Hinckley.
    • A private Archives Tour of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum for a group of four. This is a behind-the-scenes tour of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum archives, where the group will hear little known stories about the Hall of Famers and learn about the greatest collection of baseball artifacts in the world. Photos are encouraged, so bring a camera. This tour prize is valued at $1,500 and must be scheduled in advance.
“This is such an exciting time of year for baseball fans, and we’re delighted to be able to offer this raffle with the sponsorship of Steet Ponte Chevrolet,” said VHS Chief Executive Officer Lisa Betrus in a news release. “Part of what makes baseball America’s favorite pastime is its rich history, and this raffle really takes the different aspects of this popular sport and puts them together to form a winning experience.”
All proceeds of the raffle will benefit the programs of Valley Health Services, including adult day care and outpatient therapy services. Tickets may be purchased for a donation of $5 per ticket or five for $20 and are available at Valley Health Services or Steet Ponte Chevrolet. The winner will be drawn on May 5.
