  • BOYS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Dolgeville gets first win in league play

  • FRANKFORT, N.Y. — The Dolgeville Blue Devils earned their first league win in two years Friday when they defeated Frankfort-Schuyler’s Maroon Knights 66-59 on the road.
    The Blue Devils (2-9, 1-5 CSC-II) led by 13 points at halftime and 16 after three quarters then held on as Frankfort-Schuyler (2-9, 1-4 CSC-II) scored 21 in the final period.
    Brandon Lewandowski scored 18 points to lead the Blue Devils with Alex Johnson (15 points), Reid Johnson (12) and Alex Blakeslee (10) joining him in double figures. Reid Johnson had four of Dolgeville’s 11 three-point baskets.
    Mark Spina had a double-double for Frankfort-Schuyler, scoring 20 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Corey LaValla added 10 points, Ryan DeRollo scored nine and Parker Goldsmith had six with 12 rebounds.
    Frankfort-Schuyler hosts league-leading Little Falls Tuesday. Dolgeville plays at Herkimer Tuesday.

    LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — The Little Falls Mounties coasted to their third straight win Friday, beating Cooperstown 71-46 at home to keep their record perfect in Division II of the Center State Conference.
    The Mounties (11-2, 6-0 CSC-II) outscored the Hawkeyes (7-6, 3-3 CSC-II) in each of the four quarters, including the fourth when they stretched a 13-point margin to 25.
    Mitchell Baumeister and Brian Ewanyk scored 16 points to share the lead for the Mounties. Rahmere Greene added 14 points and nine rebounds, Sam Yallowitz had nine and nine with five assists, and Theo Wind had eight points and five assists.
    Christian Alexander scored 17 points for Cooperstown.
    Little Falls is on the road Tuesday for its next game at Frankfort-Schuyler. Cooperstown plays at West Canada Valley Tuesday.

    SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The Saratoga Catholic Saints trailed by one point to start the fourth quarter Friday but beat Canajoharie’s Cougars 58-55 to keep their record perfect in the North Division of the Western Athletic Conference.
    The Saints (11-2. 9-0 WAC North got 12 points each from Evan Pescetti and Michael Naughton and 11 each from Brian Hall and Keegan Murphy in the win.
    Logan Sala scored 18 points for Canajoharie. Dillan Veeder and Josh Gonzalez each scored 12.
    The Cougars travels to Galway for a game Friday.

    Roman Hula scored 12 points to lead four Indians in double figures. Thomas Worobey added 11 points while Bryan Hill and Kyler Mower each had 10.
