  • UTICA — After the success of its single stream recycling program, the Oneida Herkimer Solid Waste Authority is introducing a new recycling program aimed at local businesses and industries.
The Recycle One Business Recycling program includes an updated business recycling guide, free on-site waste reviews and training and other money-saving tools and resources to help increase business recycling in Oneida and Herkimer counties.
The goal is to preserve the environment and manage the region’s waste in a cost-effective, safe and efficient manner, said David Lupinski, the authority’s recycling director.
“Under the program, businesses and industries can benefit from lower costs for waste removal and increased revenue from recycling,” he said.
The program also includes a voluntary certification program that recognizes businesses that reduce solid waste, increase recycling and save energy.
An on-site review will be performed and successful businesses will receive:
    • A decal for display.
    • A certification letter.
    • A digital Recycle One logo for the company letterhead, websites and email.
    • Recognition on the authority’s website.
    • Recognition in future quarterly emails and eligibility for the annual recycling champion award.
For more information about the program, contact Lupinski at 733-1224, ext. 1600, or visit www.RecycleOneBusiness.com to download the program guide.
