  • GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Dolgeville rallies in first game, wins in three

  • FRANKFORT, N.Y. — The Dolgeville Blue Devils dug themselves out of a deep hole in Wednesday’s first game and defeated Frankfort-Schuyler's Maroon Knights in three.
    The Blue Devils trailed 13-2 in Game 1 but came back to win it along with the next two, taking the match 25-17, 25-12, 25-20 on the road.
    Courtney Normoyle served seven aces with nine assists, a kill and three digs for Dolgeville (8-4, 3-2 CSC-II); Emilie Bode had five kills and a dig; Taylor Brandow had seven kills, a block, five aces, two assists and five digs; Courtney Rachon had six kills, six assists, two aces and five digs; Mikey Rubas had nine digs, three aces and three kills; Katie Millard had two aces and eight digs; Camila Rios had seven digs; Abby Mosenthin had two kills, an ace and two digs; Kaylee Brandow had two digs and an ace; Annabelle Lee had one kill; and Cheyanne Sullivan had one dig.
    Alyssa Unsinn had three kills, two aces and 13 digs for Frankfort-Schuyler (3-6, 1-2 CSC-II); Brianna Manzo had 14 digs; Taylor Rafun had nine digs, an ace, an assist and a kill; and Brittney Janis had three kills, two aces and two digs.
    Dolgeville was a 2-1 junior varsity winner, taking the match 25-9, 22-25, 25-13. Emily Krasko had seven aces and a dig for Dolgeville; Mercedes Rumrill had five aces, four assists, a kill and five digs; Taylor Johnson had six aces, one kill, one assist and two digs; and Racheal Gross had three aces, three assists and two digs.
    Dolgeville will try to avenge an earlier loss Friday when the Blue Devils play at home against Herkimer. The Maroon Knights play on the road Friday in Little Falls.
    HERKIMER 3

    EAST HERKIMER, N.Y. — The Herkimer Magicians were 3-0 winners Wednesday over Owen D. Young’s Wildcats.
    The Magicians won by scores of 25-8, 25-15, and 25-13.
    Jami Peters had 19 assists, three kills, two aces and one dig for Herkimer (7-3); Paige Klock had nine kills and three aces; Sarah Johnson had six kills and an assist; Natalie Schrader had six kills and one assist; and Caitlin Roorda two aces, a kill and four digs.
    Sarah Manning had five kills and served two aces for Owen D. Young (3-7); Ellabeth Hoke had four assists, a kill and a block; and Shelby Talbot had four assists and a block.
    Herkimer plays on the road Friday evening in Dolgeville. Owen D. Young plays at home Friday against Old Forge.

    CENTRAL VALLEY ACADEMY 1
    HOLLAND PATENT, N.Y. — The Central Valley Academy Thunder pushed Holland Patent to a fourth game Wednesday but the Golden Knights won 3-1 to maintain their unblemished record within Division I of the Center State Conference.

    Chase Brys had six kills, two blocks and two aces for Holland Patent (8-2, 5-0 CSC-I); Adrienne Lyon had 13 assists a kill, an ace and two digs; Danneile Arcuri had seven kills, five blocks and two aces; and Shelby Kotary had nine assists.
    Kacey Visser had eight kills, six blocks, two aces, an assist and 13 digs for Central Valley Academy (4-6, 2-3 CSC-I); Linnsey Buckley had five kills, an ace, an assist and eight digs; Alicia Ceneviva had 12 assists, five digs, an ace, a kill and a block; and Megan Connor had 13 digs, four assists, two blocks and a kill.
    Holland Patent was a 2-0 winner in junior varsity play.
    Central Valley Academy plays in Ilion Friday against Adirondack.

    WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. — The Mt. Markham Mustangs dropped Wednesday’s third game but bounced back to win the fourth and defeat Hamilton 3-1.
    The Mustangs were 25-17, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23 winners at home.
    Claire Ladlee had seven kills, eight blocks, three aces and seven digs for Mt. Markham (10-2, 3-1 CSC-III); Hannah Barrett had eight assists and three digs; Kaleigh Bryce had six kills, seven assists, two aces and 14 digs; Bridget Wilcox had four aces, five kills and 20 digs; Olivia Thomson had nine kills and nine digs; Megan Wool had 17 digs and a pair of aces; Carryn Williams had three blocks and one dig; Courtney Thompson and Alex Hoover each had two kills; and Brianna Wilcox had one kill.
    Clara Jones had 12 kills, 12 digs and one ace for Hamilton; Eme Jones had four kills, two aces, one assist and six digs; Coral Dennis had 18 assists, one ace, one kill and one dig; Breanna Randall had seven digs and one ace; Meghan Sitts had six kills, two aces and one dig; Kari Buyea had eight digs, two aces and one assist; and Cyndee Wendt had one dig.
    Mt. Markham was a 2-0 junior varsity winner.
    The Mustangs play at undefeated Morrisville-Eaton Friday.

    LITTLE FALLS 0
    COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — The Cooperstown Hawkeyes swept three games from Little Falls Wednesday, defeating the Mounties 25-10, 25-14, 25-10.
    Caroline Leonard had seven kills and an ace for Cooperstown (10-2, 4-1 CSC-II); Kristen Ratliff had five aces, two kills and nine assists; Katie Franck had five aces and seven assists; Brooke Liner had seven kills; and Jenn Snyder served four aces.
    Kali Yerina and Carolyn Alford each had two kills and three digs for Little Falls (0-12, 0-4 CSC-II); Tara Van Alstine had four digs; Lauren Shepardson and Samantha Ackerman each had two assists.
    Cooperstown was a 25-22, 25-13 winner in the junior varsity match. Taylor Giaquinto had seven aces, a kill and three digs for Little Falls; Rebecca Swart had two digs; Molly Bucenec had a kill and three digs; Casey Baumeister had three assists, two kills and three digs; Shelby Muller had an ace and three digs; and Olivia Davis had an ace, a kill and two digs.
