DOLGEVILLE — The Rev. Blessed Unami Sikhosana will present a program to members of the Dolgeville Rotary Club and the Dolgeville Central School Interact Club at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, in the DCS elementary cafeteria.
The presentation will be free and open to the public.
A member of the Syracuse Sunrise Rotary Club of Rotary District No. 7150, Rev. Sikhosana is a native of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. In 1998, she immigrated to the United States, becoming a citizen in 2006. A recipient of a master’s degree from Maxwell School of Syracuse University, Rev. Sikhosana is founder and executive director of Blessed Sikhosana Foundation, a not-for-profit organization based in Syracuse that focuses on promoting sustainable development in Africa. The foundation was founded to help reduce poverty in Africa by digging clean drinking water wells, and by promoting and funding education for girls in Bulawayo.
With the help of the Syracuse Sunrise Rotary Club, Rev. Sikhosana traveled to Zimbabwe where she funded and built four clean water wells in her village of Chief Sigola.
A member of Rotary International and graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute, Rev. Sikhosana is highly sought after as a motivational speaker for clean water and girls’ education in Africa.
