  • GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL: Blue Devils sweep Old Forge

  • WEBB, N.Y. — The Dolgeville Blue Devils swept Thursday’s match with Old Forge, beating the Eskimos by scores of 25-11, 25-12 and 25-9.
    Taylor Brandow served seven aces with nine kills and four digs for Dolgeville (6-3); Courtney Normoyle had eight assists, three aces and three digs; Courtney Rachon had 13 assists, seven kills, three aces and one dig; Mikey Rubas had five aces, two kills, two assists and one dig; Emilie Bode had two kills and a block; Kaylee Brandow had three aces and a dig; Annabelle Lee had two assists; Katie Millard had two aces and a dig; Abby Mosenthin had five kills, an assist and a dig; Cheyanne Sullivan had three kills and one block; and Camila Rios had one dig.
    Shelby Egnaczyk served two aces with a kill and three digs for Old Forge (0-6); Lexi LaFountain also served two aces; and Lindsay Payne put down one kill.
    Dolgeville won the junior varsity match 2-0. Mercedes Rumrill had an ace and five assists for the Blue Devils; Michaela Cotton had four aces and two assists; Rachael Gross had six aces and an assist; and Emily Giarrusso served six aces.
    Dolgeville takes on Canastota at home Monday.
    BOONVILLE, N.Y. — Trailing two games-to-one, the Adirondack Wildcats won games 4 and 5 Thursday and claimed a 25-22, 20-25, 15-25, 25-22, 25-18 victory over the Central Valley Academy Thunder.
    Emily Coscomb had nine kills, an ace and eight digs for Adirondack (4-3, 2-1 CSC-I); Morgan Greenwood served three aces with five assists and a dig; Jade Mason had five kills, two aces, a block and seven digs; and Aliza Mathis had 10 assists, four kills, three aces and four digs.
    Lynnsey Buckley had five kills, an ace and 12 digs for Central Valley Academy (3-4, 3-3 CSC-I); Megan Connor had 19 digs, three kills, a block and two aces; Amanda Dahl had five kills and four blocks; and Kacey Visser had 13 digs, three kills, two blocks, an ace and two assists.
    Adirondack was a 2-1 winner in junior varsity play.
    Central Valley Academy hosts a tournament in Ilion Saturday.
    STITTVILLE, N.Y. — The Holland Patent Golden Knights swept Thursday’s match with Frankfort-Schuyler, defeating the Maroon Knights 25-18, 25-17, 25-11.
    Jessica Pinto had 11 kills and five aces for Holland Patent (7-1); Adrienne Lyon had eight assists and two digs; Michelle Smith had three kills, a block and two aces; and Joelle Mann put down seven kills.
    Jamie Juliano had seven digs, four assists and an ace for Frankfort-Schuyler (2-5); Alyssa Unsinn had two kills, a block, seven digs, an ace and an assist; and Jessica Pyle had one ace, one kill, one assist and one dig.
