  • FORT PLAIN — Following the retirement announcement of Harry Hoag Elementary School Principal Cathy Brucker on Jan. 8, the Fort Plain Central School District is looking for volunteers from the community to serve on a selection committee for a new principal.
The committee will make suggestions to the board of education as to who is the best candidate.
Brucker — who has worked for the district for 10 years — will retire on June 30, and the new principal will start on July 1. The board hopes to offer the position to a candidate by June.
“The board appreciates all the years of service that Mrs. Brucker has given to the district,” said Superintendent Douglas Burton.
Anyone interested in serving on the committee may send a letter of interest to Mr. Burton by Feb. 3 to the following address: Mr. Douglas C. Burton, Superintendent of Schools, Fort Plain Central School District, 25 High St., Fort Plain, NY 13339
Candidates interested in the principal position should forward a letter of interest, current resume, three letters of recommendation and credential file to the same address. The deadline to apply is Feb. 7.
