  • LITTLE FALLS — Robert A. “Bob” Chromczak, 58, of Little Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Little Falls Hospital.
    He was born March 6, 1955, in Fort Dix, N.J., the son of the late August J. and Marlene A. (Kennedy) Chromczak. Bob graduated high school through the Army while serving his country in Germany.
    Mr. Chromczak was a United States Army veteran, enlisting on March 12, 1973, and was honorably discharged on March 16, 1979 with the rank of SP4.
    Bob was last employed at Empire Fiberglass Products in Little Falls and at one time he was employed at Herb Phillipson’s in Herkimer.
    Survivors include his son, James Chromczak of Little Falls; three sisters, Jillian Thompson and husband, Paul, of Pinellas, Fla., Carol Jean Scholl and husband, Timothy, of Forestport and Patricia Hall and fiancé, Elwood, of Dolgeville; two grandchildren, Anthony James and Annlyse Myah Chromczak; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his two best canine buddies, Hershey Bar and Jeeter.
    His younger brother, Joseph Allen Chromczak, predeceased him.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, 866-1500. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at 6 p.m. from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi and Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, with Deacon Ron Ste. Marie officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 from 4 p.m. until the time of the services. Interment will full military honors will take place on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
