  • BOYS' BASKETBALL: Fort Plain holds off Northville comeback

  • NORTHVILLE, N.Y. — The Fort Plain Hilltoppers gave up 21 points in the fourth quarter Monday but held on to defeat Northville 62-56.
    The Hilltoppers (5-5, 3-3 WAC North) led 52-35 after three quarters on the road. They started the game with a 10-2 run and never trailed.
    Northville (3-6, 2-4 WAC North) started the fourth quarter with a 13-6 run and cut its deficit to single digits. The Falcons would get no closer than five points down the stretch.
    Eric Orologio led Fort Plain with 14 points while Aiden Van Loan scored 12 and Jon Calbet had 10.
    Kalob Russell scored 15 points, Danny Reidell had 14 and Nick Jonas had 13 for Northville.
    Fort Plain travels to Mayfield Wednesday while Northville plays at home again against Canajoharie.
