  • GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Schoff closing in on milestone for unbeaten Mounties

  • LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — The Little Falls Mounties reached the midpoint of the regular season with a perfect record Monday and senior Gen Schoff moved closer to a personal milestone in their 80-46 win over the West Canada Valley Indians.
    Schoff scored a game-high 24 points, raising the total for her four-year varsity career to 994, and added nine rebounds and four assists.
    The Mounties (9-0, 5-0 CSC-II) used a 14-2 run to stretch their lead in a game that had a single-digit margin with 2 1/2 minutes left in the third quarter. The run took the score from 47-38 to 61-40 early in the fourth quarter.
    Hannah Becker had 16 points, eight steals and six rebounds for Little Falls while Kelli Shepardson added 14 points and eight rebounds. Amy Hart also scored 14 points and Sarah Bruins had eight.
    Hayley Yager led West Canada Valley (2-5, 1-4 CSC-II) with 18 points. Carissa Tasovac scored 13.
    Little Falls next plays on the road Saturday afternoon against Holland Patent. West Canada Valley is off until Jan. 14 when the Indians will play at home against Central Valley Academy.
