UTICA — The Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Wellness Center will offer two eight-week sessions of exercise classes — Zumba and T’ai Chi Chih.
Zumba combines international rhythms and Latin-style movement to promote cardio fitness, muscle toning and weight loss. Classes will meet Mondays at 4:30 p.m., beginning on Jan. 13 in the community room at the Center for Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Services, 1650 Champlin Ave,, Utica. The session will cost $60 when prepaid or $10 per class.
T’ai Chi Chih is a set of 19 movements and one pose focused on the development of intrinsic energy known as Chi. Through these movements, one can achieve health benefits including reduced stress, increased energy and improved flexibility, balance and muscle definition. Classes will meet Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m., beginning on Jan. 14 in the Soggs Room at the Center for Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Services. The session will cost $60 when prepaid or $10 per class.
