UTICA — The annual Carbone Auto Group Employee Toy Drive has resulted in the collection of over 600 gifts that will bring big smiles to the faces of children who receive services at the House of the Good Shepherd, Resource Center for Independent Living, Upstate Cerebral Palsy, Family Nurturing Center’s Evelyn’s House, ARC of Oneida and Lewis Counties, Thea Bowman House and the Johnson Park Center in Utica
In addition, two families who receive services through the Utica Municipal Housing Authority will be sent home supplies as well as Christmas gifts for their children.
Representatives from each of the local organizations picked up the gifts on Dec. 20 at the Carbone Auto Group Corporate headquarters and will distribute them to the children for the holiday.
Toy donations are also being made to similar programs in Bennington, Vt., where Carbone owns and operates four automotive franchises
The program, called “Helping Hands,” is organized by Mount Anthony Union High School in Bennington and BROC-Community Action in Southwestern Vermont.
The Carbone Auto Group is also supporting Toys for Tots in the Bennington, Vt., and Capital District areas with a total monetary donation of $14,000.
