  • GIRLS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Fort Plain gets by Galway

  • FORT PLAIN, N.Y. — The Fort Plain Hilltoppers scored 21 points in the fourth quarter Friday and pulled out a 49-44 win against Galway’s Golden Eagles.
    The Hilltoppers (3-2, 2-1 WAC North) had fallen behind in the first quarter and still trailed Galway (4-2, 3-1 WAC North) 30-28 at the start of the fourth.
    Haley Kilmartin scored nine of her 17 points in the fourth quarter for Fort Plain and hit three of her final four foul shots. Bri Florian added six of her eight points during the period and Abby Boyer had five of her team-high 18.
    Erica Chase led Galway with 18 points.
    Fort Plain plays Tuesday at Saratoga Catholic.

    Alexis Kane hit four three-pointers and led the Cougars (4-2, 3-1 WAC North) with 14 points. Ariannah Logan scored eight points.
    Kaylie Fish had 13 points for the Saints (1-5, 1-2 WAC North).

    Cierra Ralph led Worcester with 16 points.
