  • WEST WINFIELD — Upstate Spray Foam Insulation, of West Winfield, was recently awarded a large scale project at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Their portion of the project, contracted by Tampa, Fla.-based J. Kokolakis Contracting, will take approximately two months to complete.
The project involves the complete renovation of the Scott Barracks, a six-story, 150,000 square foot building that houses up to 476 cadets. The building was named after Gen. Winfield Scott and was constructed in 1938.
Upstate Spray Foam Insulation will install spray foam Insulation throughout the barracks; all walls of the masonry building will be sprayed with closed cell polyurethane foam. The addition of spray foam to the structure will add energy efficiency to the building, according to a news release.
This project will be the second time JKC and Upstate Spray Foam have partnered on a commercial project. The two are currently working together at the SUNY Cobleskill Agricultural and Natural Resources Building in Cobleskill.
