  • BOYS' BASKETBALL: Fort Plain beats Chatham for first win of season

  • WATERFORD, N.Y. — Aiden Van Loan scored 22 points Sunday and led Fort Plain to its first win of the season. The Hilltoppers were 55-26 winners over the Chatham Panthers in their final game at Waterford-Halfmoon’s tip-off tournament.
    Fort Plain (1-2) scored 21 points in the first quarter and worked with a double-digit lead the rest of the way. Kiernan Briggs scored nine points to support Van Loan’s offensive effort.
    Flynn O’Connell scored 15 of the 26 points for Chatham (1-2).
    The Hilltoppers are home Wednesday for a game against Canajoharie.
