  • BOYS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Tornadoes win twice at Pepsi Shootout

  • QUEENSBURY, N.Y. — The Poland Tornadoes completed their run at the Pepsi Shootout with Saturday’s 68-41 win over the Keene Beavers at SUNY-Adirondack.
    Poland (2-1) went 2-0 in the shootout with wins over Keene and another Section VII school, Schroon Lake, the night before.
    Mark Hennings scored 20 points to lead Poland Saturday. Dustin DuBrule added 13 points, Cameron Tabor scored 12 and Ross Agen had 10.
    Colton Venner was the high scorer for the Beavers (3-2) with 15 points.
    The Tornadoes travel to Oriskany Tuesday.

    FORT PLAIN 35
    WATERFORD, N.Y. — The Fort Plain Hilltoppers were beaten 66-35 Saturday by Section VII Peru on the first day of play in Waterford-Halfmoon’s tip-off tournament.
    The Indians led 34-18 at halftime and scored 20 points in the third quarter to widen the margin in their first game of the season. Connor Casey and Jordan Guam each scored 17 points for the victors.
    Zach Florian had 18 points to lead Fort Plain. Aiden Van Loan added seven.
