  • UTICA — Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare opened Genesee Urgent Care, previously known as Independent Physicians Urgent Care, at 1904 Genesee St. in Utica on Nov. 1.
FSLH acquired Independent Physicians from the three principal physician owners, Domenic Aiello, MD; Venkata Mannava, MD; and Anthony DeIorio, MD.
FSLH also owns and operates an urgent care center at their Faxton campus, 1676 Sunset Ave. in Utica.
The Faxton and Genesee Urgent Care Centers each have nearly 20,000 patient visits annually.
“My thanks to the staff of Independent Physicians for their assistance in making this transition a smooth and successful one,” said Bradley Crysler, executive director of Adirondack Community Physicians for FSLH, in a news release. “Urgent care centers provide a needed service for less threatening injuries and illnesses, leaving the emergency departments available for the more serious and life-threatening issues.”
Both urgent care locations are open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and accept most major insurances.
Faxton Urgent Care may be reached at 624-5226 and Genesee Urgent Care may be reached at 793-8856.
