  • BOYS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Richfield Springs holds off Schenevus in win

  • SCHENEVUS, N.Y. — The Richfield Springs Indians held a 10-point lead at the end of Wednesday’s opening period and defeated Schenevus 53-45 on the road.
    The margin dwindled to two points at halftime but the Indians outscored the Dragons 10-4 in the third quarter to extend it back to eight entering the fourth.
    Roman Hula and Thomas Worobey, the two returning varsity players for Richfield Springs, led the Indians with 18 and 14 points, respectively. Kyler Mower added 10 points.
    Jacob Darling scored 18 points for Schenevus.
    Richfield Springs plays its home opener Tuesday against Sharon Springs.

    REMSEN, N.Y. — The Adirondack Wildcats shook off a slow start Wednesday and defeated Remsen 72-42 on the road.
    The win was the second for Adirondack (2-0) against remsen (0-3) to start the season.
    Remsen led 11-6 after the first quarter but Adirondack, a 77-46 winner at home Nov. 26, came back with 25 points in the second and led by nine at halftime. The Wildcats outscored the Rams 23-4 in the fourth quarter to stretch an 11-point lead to the final 30-point margin.
    Ryan Dellerba scored 15 points to lead a balanced Adirondack attack. Josh Nessel and Jordan Millard each had 14 points , Kyle Swiecki scored 11 and Elliott Hernandez had nine.
    Sabastian Bullard scored a game-high 20 points for Remsen.
