LITTLE FALLS — Soup Fest, a community event for Mohawk Valley nonprofits, civic groups, politicians and restaurants, will take place during the sixth annual Christmas in Little Falls Festival on Saturday, Dec. 14. All proceeds from the 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. event on Main Street will benefit local and national charities.
Nonprofit groups, politicians and local restaurants will compete for bragging rights of “Best Soup in Little Falls,” with everyone invited to sample the different soups and chowders for $1 per four-ounce serving.
Nonprofits and civic groups may participate to raise money and awareness, politicians and other individuals may participate to raise money for their favorite charity and local restaurants may participate to raise money for their favorite charity and to give people an opportunity to taste their fare. The $5 entry fee will be used to fund a cash prize for the winner’s favorite charity.
All participants will be assigned a location in the community, and should bring a pot of their homemade soup — cups and spoons will be provided, courtesy of the Little Falls Family YMCA. Participants are also welcome to bring information about their nonprofit, or to sell other items they have available, such as mugs or shirts.
