HERKIMER — Herkimer County recently received an upgrade in its credit rating.
Standard & Poor’s Rating Services increased the county’s grade from an A+ to AA.
“The rating reflects Standard & Poor’s belief that the county’s budgetary performance is solid,” Legislator Patrick Russell, chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, said in a news release. “We have strong liquidity, strong management conditions and our debt and contingent liability profile is very strong.”
Bono said this is yet another confirmation that the fiscal efforts of the Legislature, department heads, staff and employees are moving in the right director for the taxpayers of the county.
“This comes in addition to an upgrade we received earlier in the year from Moody’s,” he said.
