  • GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Fonda-Fultonville wins Tip-Off title

  • CANAJOHARIE, N.Y. — The Fonda-Fultonville Braves retained the Canajoharie Tip-Off Tournament championship by beating the host school in the title game for the third year in a row Saturday.
    Emily Parslow scored 25 points in the final and led the Braves to a 58-45 win. Fonda-Fultonville outscored Canajoharie 15-2 in the first quarter and never surrendered the lead.
    Cassandra Egelston added 10 points and Monica Derby scored nine for Fonda-Fultonville.
    Jordyn Logan scored 12 points and Alexis Kane had 10 for the Cougars.
    Galway defeated Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville in the consolation game.
    Joining Parslow, the most valuable player, on the tournament’s all-star team were Derby, Kane, Galway's Erica Chase and Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville's Rylie Smith.
    Canajoharie plays at Northville Tuesday. Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville and Galway meet again Friday at Galway.
