HERKIMER — The Herkimer County Historical Society has several new book titles and gifts in their gift shop.
Their shop is in the historical society’s Eckler Building, 406 N. Main St., Herkimer, and is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturdays from Thanksgiving until Christmas, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Some of the new book titles include the historical society’s newest Arcadia Publishing book on “Frankfort,” a pictorial history of the village and town of Frankfort, along with two new books on General Nicholas Herkimer — “Nicholas Herkimer: Palatine, Patriot, America Hero” by Alan Sterling and Nancy Cioch and “The Battle of Oriskany and General Nicholas Herkimer” by Paul Boehlert. For those interested in the Adirondacks, there are five new selections published by The Forager Press including the new book “Adirondack Adventures: Bob Gillespie and Harvey Dunham on French Louie’s Trail” by Roy Reehil, “Adirondack Characters and Campfire Yarns,” “Adirondack Kaleidoscope and North Country Characters,” “Life in a North Woods Lumber Camp” and “Noah John Rondeau’s Adirondack Wilderness Days.” David Siegenthaler has a new book out entitled “The Airlift Mission: A Human Interest Story Blended with History of the U.S. Air Force Airlift Mission.” There are also new Erie Canal playing cards and the “Historic Sites” puzzle has been reduced.
